Components and Version Records

Virtual Appliance documentation follows its own release version. The Management ISO, Management application and embedded components have their own version numbers. These can differ from the documentation version.

Appliance operating system and cluster services	Node operation, cluster control, network, storage, configuration reconciliation, database, and observability.	Release-supplied component inventory and collected diagnostics. Compare the deployed component inventory with the release record when investigating version differences.
ERS applications and interfaces	Product functionality, PKI, and configured integrations.	The supplied product release information and version-matched product documentation.

Record a Deployment

Keep these installation and support records:

ISO filename and checksum, or Management container image reference and digest.
Management version and selected appliance release.
Deployment topology and the component inventory supplied with the release.
Source and target versions for each later update.

Backup Details can include captured component versions. Those describe the backup, not necessarily the current running appliance. The update page’s Component changes describes a selected transition when an update bundle is available.

Use the component versions delivered with the qualified release when choosing product manuals or recovery media. Do not assume that current upstream versions or changing development inventories are compatible with the installed appliance release.
