Manage Capacity and restart Management
Management storage holds local bundles, retained state and operation output. Its capacity is separate from the managed appliance’s node storage.
Resolve low Management Disk Space
Management displays available and total storage when it detects pressure. At a warning level, new work remains available. If storage is too low or Management cannot check it, Management blocks new work that needs storage. This includes installation, recovery, updates, uploads, bundle downloads and diagnostics collection.
Existing work is not stopped automatically. Inspection, existing downloads, cancellation and supported deletion remain available.
-
Read the storage banner and note the available space and whether work is blocked.
-
Open Settings > Bundles. Identify copies no longer required locally and retain required release or recovery material outside Management before deleting them.
-
Open Support > Diagnostics. Download required evidence, then delete unneeded retained diagnostics using the provided controls.
-
Wait for the next storage check and confirm that the warning or block clears before starting more work.
If deletion is rejected because an operation uses the item, finish or cancel that operation through its own controls. Do not delete application state or container storage directly to bypass the block. If supported cleanup does not free enough capacity, collect the available evidence and use troubleshooting and support.
Restart or stop Management
Use the Management VM console to stop, start or restart the host and Management. Refresh Status refreshes the display without restarting services.
Before stopping or restarting:
-
Finish active installation, update, recovery, configuration and diagnostics operations.
-
Download required output and retain the appliance artifact bundle outside Management. Some operation inputs and downloadable artifacts are held in memory.
-
Keep the Management state disk attached and the Management ISO first in the VM boot order.
Select Stop Management Application to stop the application. It remains stopped until you explicitly choose Start Management Application or reboot the host. Use Reboot to reboot the Management VM and Shutdown to shut it down. Starting Management requires an active configured network and synchronized NTP source.
Stopping or restarting Management interrupts access to its UI and tools. Reconnect with the artifact bundle afterward. These controls do not restart the managed appliance nodes.
After restart, verify the console reports Management ready, open its HTTPS address, sign in and reconnect the installed appliance. Check current node readiness and ERS access before resuming work.
Replacing the Management ISO is an update operation. Loss of the Management disk is a recovery scenario. For managed-appliance capacity or node failures, inspect appliance monitoring and use the corresponding recovery procedure.
